Our curriculum

Empowering every student with the skills to think critically, adapt confidently and lead in a dynamic world.

Four stages, one journey

GNPS follows the CBSE curriculum within the 5+3+3+4 structure of the National Education Policy 2020. Each stage has its own way of teaching, matched to how children learn at that age.

The roots of excellence

The Foundational Stage marks the most vital period of a child's development: five years of joyful, play-based discovery from Pre-Nursery to Class 2. Guided by the NEP 2020 framework, we move away from traditional textbooks to a multi-level, activity-based pedagogy that nurtures the "Panchakosha", the five-fold development of the child.

Our curriculum prioritises foundational literacy and numeracy through storytelling, puppets and music, so every child builds a strong linguistic and mathematical base in a stress-free environment. By focusing on cognitive skills, socio-emotional ethics and physical coordination, our youngest learners develop a lifelong love for learning, rooted in Indian values and global standards.

Building the bridge

The Preparatory Stage is a bridge from play-based discovery to more formal, subject-based learning. The focus stays on foundational literacy and numeracy while Mathematics, Science and Social Studies are introduced through interactive, inquiry-based methods.

We emphasise art-integrated education and "learning by doing" for conceptual clarity, moving away from rote memorisation. With critical thinking, digital literacy through smart classes, and a strong core of Indian values, students turn curiosity into structured knowledge, ready for the Middle Stage.

Subject-based inquiry

The Middle Stage brings a shift to subject-oriented teaching, where students meet more abstract concepts across the sciences, mathematics, arts, humanities and social sciences. The curriculum moves beyond textbooks to experiential learning: research-based projects and hands-on experiments that explore the connections between fields.

A highlight of this stage at GNPS is vocational exposure and 21st-century skills such as coding, robotics and digital literacy, with hands-on work in our Robotics and STEM lab (STEMROBO), where students build projects and use a 3D printer, alongside the three-language formula that fosters multilingualism. Smart classes with TATA Class Edge and discussion-based learning turn adolescents into critical thinkers and problem-solvers who carry the GNPS values of integrity and innovation into their secondary education.

Shaping future leaders

The Secondary Stage is the pinnacle of the academic journey: four years of intensive, multidisciplinary study designed for depth and flexibility. In Classes XI and XII students choose one of three streams, Science, Commerce or Humanities, and in line with NEP 2020 they can pick subject combinations that match their career aspirations and interests.

Teaching shifts to critical thinking, analytical reasoning and higher-order problem solving, preparing students for the board examinations and for competitive entrance tests. With advanced digital tools, career counselling and leadership development, GNPS seniors graduate not just with academic excellence but as resilient, innovative and ethically grounded individuals.
